About the Program

The Premium Efficiency Cooling Program is part of a statewide initiative to improve energy efficiency, reduce peak electricity demand, and curb greenhouse gas emissions. Benefits you can receive by participating in the program include:

San Diego Gas & Electric® customers may enroll in program services or check their eligibility by completing a reservation request form.

Select a participating contractor for best results. These contractors can assist you in selecting eligible equipment and meeting program requirements. You may choose to use your own contractor for equipment installations, but for controllers or tune-ups only specially trained contractors may provide these services.

Check with your local building department for the appropriate permits for equipment replacement (permits are not required for tune-ups).

After the installation is complete, call 1-888-369-1608 to schedule an inspection. Program staff can assist you with any remaining requirements.
